By the way there seems to be a little confusion as to how I work, since some of you have been asking lately what program I use to draw. Well, there's a reason I always post to the traditional media category; I do everything by hand. I pencil in a sketch, do the line work with a pigment pen and then I fill in the dark parts with black ink.
The only time I use the computer in the process is when I scan, adjust levels and when I sometimes add a background color.
materials used: Vellum board 0.3 mech pencil 0.05, 0.1 and 0.2 Micron pigment pens black india ink and paintbrush
Nice!..I somehow already knew you did it all by hand...and they are more epic for it. Too many people using computer software Lol...Me included. Very nice, you got her just how I pictured her

Thanks Abi. I need to eventually learn how to use programs for illustration and painting. Illustration the old fashioned way is obsolete.

Of course I'd love to be allowed to use traditional media forever and ever, but digital is an industry standard.

Great as always, the details and the background is awesome, I totally envy for being able to do backgrounds, I should practice haha! And I love the fact that you draw in a traditional way, makes it even better. Because you really can't see it.
I would very much like to see how a sketch without any Photoshop help at all looks like O:
Thanks again Shu. You are always very kind when commenting. I use reference pictures for backgrounds, usually. Hmm, what do you mean by you really can't see it?
I post my sketches regularly before inking! here's some of the sketches [link]
and here's the sketch of this piece [link] . It really looks like that. the only thing I do with photoshop is adjust levels.

And I mean that it looks like they've been done digitally, I would never have guessed that you drew them with pen and ink. And that's a compliment haha xD Whenever I draw (especially with pencil) my lineart is so messy D8
Ohh, I'm gonna check those out. I'm really curious O:
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
